Pole Star are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for the C5 Accelerate Shield in the Cloud Innovation Challenge.
The Shield in the Cloud Innovation Challenge is the first global anti-corruption innovation challenge, and is a joint venture between C5, Amazon Web Services, PeaceTech Lab and SAP NS2.
The challenge is aligned with Goal 16 of the United Nations’ global sustainable goal to promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies. This Goal seeks to hold institutions and governments accountable and transparent. It also aims to eliminate bribery and other forms of political and corporate corruption.
Shield in the Cloud selects the most innovative startups, corporations and governments working in technology for anti-corruption compliance worldwide, and Pole Star’s award winning regulatory technology for compliance in maritime trade – PurpleTRAC – has been shortlisted.
Simon Ring - Global Head of Financial Markets for Pole Star - says:
"Maritime trade and shipping is an area of increasing regulatory focus. Over the last few years, technology has made great strides in this sector. Our award-winning systems enable our clients in both public and private sectors to keep at pace with an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, improving levels of compliance and transparency across the globe. To be shortlisted for such a prestigious award is an honour, and we wish all the other shortlisted candidates the best of luck at the awards in Washington on the 27th of February."
The competition will be judged by: Patrick Garver, formerly Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Barrick; Andy Powell, Head of Product Management, Eduserv; Moira Andrews, Director, Praetor Consultants; and Andre Pienaar, Founder, C5.
